Mayfield Highlight #3: Jim Farquharson

This week, our team reached out to former Mayfield staff member, Jim Farquharson, who concluded his teaching career at Mayfield in 2001. He wrote a recap about his former teaching career and what he's been up to lately, check it out!

"I started my teaching career in the elementary panel in 72 at Alloa and Creditview (half time). Began my secondary career in 73 in moderns department until 84. I went to North Park as a department head in 1984. Then off to Chinguacousy as department head from 85 - 99. I finished my career at Mayfield 1999 - 2001. I coached football every fall ( Peel Junior champs in 73, swim team every winter ( Peel Champs in 84)and rugby (Peel Champs in 86) every spring."

"After 2001, I purchased 3 businesses in Guelph and sold all 3 for a profit in 2005. After another short retirement my wife and I became registered real estate agents with RE/MAX Real Estate Centre in Fergus. Our daughter, Emily, joined our sales team, and now all 3 of us are Brokers. We are the top producing team in our Fergus office. Life is good! -Jim"
